After my family left Seattle, we began our extensive drive (thanks, Dad) South toward San Francisco. We didn’t have those few driving days completely planned out ahead of time, but we knew we were going to visit the Redwoods, visit Crater Lake, Multnomah Falls, and drive along the northern California coast.
During my family trip to the West Coast this summer, I was lucky enough to visit Seattle. “The Emerald City” is somewhere I have wanted to go for almost as long as I can remember (and no, it has nothing to do with being a Grey’s Anatomy fan – although I will admit that didn’t deter my desire!) On our way back to Michigan from Myrtle Beach, we decided to stop in Washington, D.C. Mike and his parents had never been there, and I hadn’t since I was in 8th grade. The time of year we went was perfect – very little tourist traffic because their peak season was just ramping up. We were there a short time, Tuesday-Friday in the second week of March.
